<h2>"I’m running to bring Clarksville a government that’s accessible, community-driven, and focused on building a city that works for everyone."</h2>Brian has spent his life serving others and working to strengthen the communities he calls home. After a 22-year Army career as a Signals Intelligence Collector and Arabic linguist, Brian retired from the Army and continued doing what he’s always done best: stepping up where he’s needed.In Clarksville, Brian wears a lot of hats. As an educator, he helps students learn to solve problems, build things that matter, and see themselves as future engineers, innovators, and leaders. As the City Council representative for Ward 1 and Mayor Pro Tem, he continues to be a steady voice for smarter growth, safer streets, and a government that listens to the people it serves.Brian is deeply involved in community life, from supporting Habitat for Humanity, to representing the city at local events, to helping residents navigate everything from neighborhood issues to infrastructure challenges. Clarksville is growing whether we plan for it or not and right now we’re seeing the consequences of growth that’s outrunning the roads, schools, and public services people rely on every day. Smarter growth isn’t about stopping development; it’s about making sure it happens in a way that actually works for the families who live here.That means aligning new projects with real infrastructure capacity, investing in safer roads and connected sidewalks, and making sure our neighborhoods aren’t left behind while the city expands. It means working with regional partners to plan ahead instead of scrambling after the fact. And it means setting clear expectations with developers so the community isn’t constantly paying the price for decisions made behind closed doors.If we want a Clarksville where people can get to work safely, where kids can walk or bike without taking their lives in their hands, and where growth supports our quality of life instead of straining it, then we need a mayor who treats infrastructure as a priority, not an afterthought. That’s the kind of leadership I’m committed to bringing to City Hall.

When government is accessible, trust increases, problems get solved faster, and residents feel like partners instead of bystanders.For me, accessibility isn’t a slogan, it’s how I already serve. I respond to emails, show up to neighborhood meetings, explain my votes publicly, and make myself available when people need help navigating city issues. As mayor, I’ll bring that same level of openness to City Hall by expanding public engagement, improving transparency around major decisions, and making sure residents can easily understand how their city is growing and why.Clarksville works best when every voice can be heard, not just the loudest or the most connected. They shape our future workforce, support families, and anchor neighborhoods across the city. While schools are operated by the county and the school system, the city still has an important role to play as a partner and advocate.
